Hockey Legend Dies

 

A hockey legend has died.

Richard “Dick” Roberts, of Warroad, passed away Tuesday at the Warroad Senior Living Center, at the age of 93.

Roberts was a two-time captain of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team, hockey coach at Thief River Falls High School from 1948 to 1949, a youth hockey coach in Warroad and a coach at Warroad High School from 1976 to 1977.

Roberts leaves behind his wife of 72 years, Martha, five children and two sisters-in-law.

Funeral services are today (Friday) at Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad at 11 a.m.
