Influenza Continues To Spread in North Dakota

 

The North Dakota Department of Health says that the influenza season continues—and numbers continue to climb.

As of January 26, 472 cases were reported for the week, with the seasonal total reaching 1,810. Compared to last year, numbers are down.

As of January 19, 2019, CDC estimated between 9.8 million and 11.4 million people have been sick with influenza in the United States.

This week, of the 472 cases reported, 424 of them were Influenza A cases, with 31 reported as the 2009 A H1N1 strain.

Burleigh County has the highest number of cases across the state.

24 people were hospitalized this week, bringing the seasonal total to 107.
