North Dakota Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp announced Friday the awarding of more than $2.2 million dollars in the form of a grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to Turtle Mountain Community College (TMCC). According to a news release, the HHS grant will help support TMCC’s Health Education Access through Rural Training (HEART) program. The goal of the program is to help low-income individuals receive education and training in health care occupations that are in high demand or expected to face labor shortages.
