Fargo Man Arrested In Jewelry Store Robbery

 

Fargo Police have now released the name of the individual who has been arrested in the robbery at Riddles Jewelry near West Acres Mall on Friday morning. According to authorities, 25-year-old Victor Anthony Velazquez, of Fargo, was arrested for armed robbery and was subsequently transported to the Cass County Jail.  He faces a charge of armed robbery.

Authorities were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at Riddles at 9:24 a.m. this morning. According to a police department report, when officers arrived, the suspect had left the area. Witnesses and employees of the store stated a man had entered the store and threatened them with a handgun. He directed employees to place jewelry into bags, and then had employees carry the bags to a white van outside of the store.

The suspect then drove away – appearing to be acting alone. There were no injuries to witnesses or employees.

A description of the van, including license plate number, was provided by witnesses. The North North Dakota Highway Patrol located the vehicle on I-29 south of Fargo. At approximately 10:29 this morning, the North Dakota Highway Patrol and Richland County Sheriff’s Office conducted the traffic stop on the vehicle near I-29 and mile marker 42, 17 miles south of Fargo. The vehicle pulled over, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
