Winter Storm Recap

 

The National Weather Service has released data from Sunday night and Monday’s winter storm that rocked much of North Dakota and Minnesota.

The National Weather Service says that areas in extreme northeastern North Dakota and west to west-central Minnesota received anywhere between eight and 12 inches of snow. A majority of northern North Dakota received anywhere between six and eight inches of snow, while south- and west-central North Dakota received four to six inches. Extreme southern North Dakota received up to four inches.

The heaviest amount recorded was two miles north of Petersburg, N.D., where 9.5 inches of snow fell in a time period ending at 5:45 p.m. Monday.

Detroit Lakes, on the other hand, received just 1.5 inches of snowfall.

The seven-day forecast calls for another chance of snowfall to occur Wednesday into Thursday mid-day.
