Grand Forks Man Captured After Fleeing Officers

 

A 33-year-old Grand Forks man is behind bars this afternoon after fleeing officers Friday morning. According to Sergeant Middleton of the Grand Forks Police Department, officers from the Grand Forks Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop of a gray SUV, which failed to stop for the officers.  The vehicle fled from officers and continued eastbound on Demers Avenue and entered into East Grand Forks. The vehicle ended up coming to a stop in the 100 block of 4th Street Northeast in East Grand Forks. According to the news release, the driver of the vehicle then exited the vehicle and fled on foot from officers who continued to pursue the driver on foot.  The suspect then entered an apartment complex where the suspect was found hiding and eventually apprehended. Authorities have identified the driver of the vehicle as 33-year-old Monitez Henry. Henry was arrested on several outstanding warrants, as well as other criminal charges related to the pursuit. He was booked into the Tri-County Correctional Center.
