Two Seriously Injured In I-29 Crash

Two individuals from the northern valley were injured in a crash Friday night on I-29, one mile north of Pembina.

The Chevrolet was pinned under the rear of the semi-trailer, trapping both occupants.

Both vehicles were damaged and remained on the roadway resulting in a closure of southbound I-29.

Alan Winkler and Jennifer Winkler sustained serious injuries. Swanson was uninjured.

Alan Winkler was charged with driving under the influence.

The southbound lanes of I-29 were obstructed for approximately three hours, before traffic could continue resume.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
