Deputies Involved In Rural Grand Forks County Shooting

 

One male was injured, and two deputies are on administrative leave, following a shooting on US Highway 2, north of Arvilla, on Sunday.

According to the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened Sunday at 1:50 p.m. Deputies responded to a vehicle that had broken down on US Highway 2. Deputies made contact with a lone male, driver of the vehicle, who displayed a firearm.

Shots were fired and the male subject was injured and transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. The two deputies were uninjured.

Per standard procedure, the two deputies were placed on administrative leave, pending the investigation, which is being done by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Grand Forks Police Department, Larimore Ambulance, Altru Ambulance and the North Dakota BCI.
