Authorities Name Grand Forks Drowning Victim

Grand Forks County authorities have released the name of a man found after kayakers reported a floating mattress on the English Coulee 14 miles southwest of Grand Forks.

Authorities say 23-year-old Andrew Torrey, Grand Forks, has been identified as the drowning victim. Authorities say the cause of death is ‘accidental drowning,’ pending the results of a full autopsy. Using a drone and watercraft equipped with sonar, divers recovered the body in approximately 10 feet of water about 50 feet from shore.
