West Fargo Police Explores Accepting Applications Now

The West Fargo Police Explorer post is currently accepting applications for new
members.

Exploring is a nationally recognized program, providing young adults career orientation
experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary
goals of the Police Exploring program are to help young adults choose a career path
within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their
communities and the nation. Explorers are given hands-on law enforcement training in
order to help them determine if a career in law enforcement is the right path for them.

This program is open to students ages 14 (and have completed the 8th grade) through 21
(and are still enrolled in classes). Students should have an interest in law enforcement as
a possible career. Classes are held on Thursday evenings, twice a month, and will begin
near the end of September. Class size is limited.

Some of the topics include: Drug Enforcement, K9, SWAT, Traffic Stops, Firearms,
Crime Scenes, Ride-A-Longs, Domestics, and much more.

If you are interested or have any questions contact Detective Travis Johnson at 433-5500.
You can pick up an application at the West Fargo Police Department or online at
