On Wednesday, at approximately 8:12 p.m., officers from the West Fargo Police Department were dispatched to the 3300 block of 7th Street West on a report of gunshot in an apartment building.
Upon arrival, and through investigation, officers learned a 19-year-old male was attempting to clean a handgun when it went off. The bullet traveled through the floor and into the occupied apartment below.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
The incident remains under investigation by the West Fargo Police Department, and charges are pending in the case.
