An investigation into a hit-and-run fatality crash has begun in Grand Forks.
According to the Grand Forks Police Department, the crash happened sometime Sunday morning. Officers were dispatched just before 5 a.m. to the area of I-29 and Demers Avenue for a possibly deceased subject. At the time of arrival, CPR was attempted, but the female victim was pronounced deceased upon transport to Altru Hospital.
Evidence obtained appears to indicate the victim was struck by an unknown vehicle.
The P-D is asking anyone with information call as soon as possible. The crash is believed to have occurred between 4:45 and 4:59 a.m. The striking vehicle would possibly have damage to the front bumper and hood.
