National Library Week at Fargo Public Library

The Fargo Public Library, along with other libraries across the United States, is celebrating National Library Week through April 13, 2019. This year’s theme is “Libraries = Strong Communities.”

The Fargo Public Library strives to make Fargo a stronger community by providing free access to services, programs, lifelong learning, discovery and entertainment. Residents are encouraged to visit and explore the Fargo Public Library to discover and learn about all of its collections and resources not only this week, but all year long.

First established by the National Library Association in 1958, National Library Week was started to celebrate and promote libraries and library use. Libraries play an integral role in their communities. They are not merely places of books and quiet, but places of information and ways to improve one’s quality of life. Libraries are continually evolving in order to better meet their community’s needs.
