Mayor Tim Mahoney Issues Emergency Declaration to Close City Offices for April 12

 

Due to blizzard-like conditions, rapidly deteriorating road conditions and forecasted heavy snowfalls, Mayor Tim Mahoney has declared an emergency to enact a closure of all non-emergency City offices for Friday, April 12. Snow plowing services will continue and public safety agencies will be in full operation to protect and serve the residents of Fargo.

Working together, Mayor Mahoney and Fargo Public Schools Superintendent Rupak Gandhi made this joint decision to protect residents, students and staff members in the community. 

All Fargo City Hall departments will be closed on Friday. 

All three Fargo Public Library locations will be closed as well.  In addition, the Fargo Public Library is closing its locations at 5 p.m. tonight (April 11).

MATBUS fixed routes and MAT Paratransit will not be offered on April 12 and the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) in Downtown Fargo will be closed.  MATBUS services for today are being suspended at 4:15 p.m.

Fargo Cass Public Health will be closed on Friday.  This includes all services, including WIC, clinic services and immunizations. 

There will be no residential trash and recycling collection Friday. The Fargo Sanitary Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will both be closed. The Fargo Sanitary Landfill will resume its normal hours on Saturday, which run from 7:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. The HHW facility will be open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Residents who normally have trash/recycling collected on Friday will have those items collected on Monday.
