Scott Hennen chats with Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite of the The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers when he visited Fargo, North Dakota, Tuesday, April 16.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and Fargo Moorhead Area Diversion Authority are working in partnership to build a project that will reduce flood risk for more than 230,000 people and 70 square miles of infrastructure in the communities of Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo Horace and Harwood. The project includes building a 30-mile long diversion channel in North Dakota with upstream staging. The project is being implemented using a public private partnership, which is an innovative approach for the Corps of Engineers.
