The active police situation continues in the City of Moorhead.
At around 9:30 this morning, officers from the Moorhead Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from other agencies, responded to a domestic incident on 5th Street South in Moorhead. Roads in the area have been blocked off, and individuals living in the area, which includes 4th, 5th and 6th Streets South, along with 6th Street from 14th Avenue through 18th Avenue South, are asked to shelter in place.
Flash sound diversionary devices were just used outside the residence, within the past half hour, in effort to get the suspect’s attention. Efforts to maintain contact with the individual have not been successful within the last hour.
The sounds emitted from the devices sound loud, but Moorhead Police remind residents it is not gunfire.
