Steve Hallstrom
Host of The Need to Know Morning Show & President and Managing Partner of Flag Family Media

Steve Hallstrom is President and Managing Partner of Flag Family Media, which owns two radio stations and a consulting company, AM1100 The Flag WZFG in Fargo, AM1090 KTGO in Tioga, North Dakota, and Fieldstone Consulting Group, based in Fargo.

Steve manages all segments of the company, which currently employs 20 people across the state of North Dakota, and hosts a morning news program from 6-8:30 am on AM1100 The Flag.

Steve came to Flag Family Media after five years managing the Northeast Region of National Sales at Discovery Benefits, where he earned numerous awards for sales excellence.

He grew up in Central Minnesota and is a 1990 graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul.  He and his wife Tracey recently celebrated their 27th anniversary. They have two children, Aaron (a sophomore at the University of Minnesota) and Natalie (a junior at Davies High School in Fargo).

When away from work, Steve enjoys golfing, coaching basketball, and running.  He is a board member with Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Eastern North Dakota.

Scott Hennen​
Host of the What’s On Your Mind Show & Partner at Flag Family Media

Scott Hennen is a broadcasting pioneer, having started the first ever, all news-talk radio station in North Dakota, with the launch of KCNN in Grand Forks, N.D. in 1986.

Today, he’s partner/co-owner of two Flag Family Media radio stations, AM 1100 WZFG Dilworth/Fargo/Moorhead and AM 1090 KTGO Tioga/Ray/Stanley and Fieldstone Group, a public relations consulting company.

In addition to his ownership duties, Scott hosts two weekly radio shows, the “What’s On Your Mind” radio program, heard weekdays 9-11 a.m. central time, syndicated by Genesis Communications Network and can be heard on four stations throughout North Dakota (AM 550 KFYR, AM 1090 KTGO, AM 1100 WZFG & AM 1460 KLTC). “Energy Matters”, focuses on the important and always changing energy climate, whether it’s local, regional, national or international.

He is married to Maria Hennen and is the proud father to three children.

Alex Taylor
Host of The Need to Know Show

Alex grew up on a potato farm near Baker MN and went to high school in Barnesville.

After high school she spent several years as a hair stylist and had a young son while graduating from MSU with a major in broadcast journalism.

Alex started her radio career while still in college running count down shows like Rick Dees and Casey Kasem on a local top 40 station and eventually that worked into fulltime. From there she worked at various area FM music radio stations on all shifts and formats.

While in college Alex discovered Rush Limbaugh and found a passion for talk radio. Before working at The Flag she was on a local talk show on the FM dial.

Alex loves to cook especially grilling and entertaining her friends on the patio in the Summer time. She also enjoys listening to country music, hosting wine tasting and meeting new people.  

Alex makes her home in West Fargo and has been a long time resident there. 

Kevin Flynn
Producer, The Need to Know Morning Show, What's on Your Mind

Kevin Flynn is Minnesota born and raised. He grew up in the Twin Cities, graduated from Osseo High School and went to Brown College (Brown "Institute" in the day) for broadcasting.

After starting his career in Fargo and Albert Lea, MN, warmer weather called. And after spending a decade on the air in Phoenix, San Antonio, Los Angeles and San Diego, he decided it was time to move home to Minnesota. After some time in the Twin Cities, Kevin and his wife moved to Fargo and eventually, the Detroit Lakes area. He's been at the lake and on the air in the area ever since!

Kevin makes his home near Detroit Lakes Minnesota with his wife and son.
