NDUS Chancellor Details UND President Search Process

Now that Mark Kennedy has officially been named President at the University of Colorado, the search begins at the University of North Dakota.

In an interview with WZFG News, North Dakota University System Chancellor Mark Hagerott says the school and University System is at an advantage as a search was done at the University a few years ago. A lot of data and information on the University was collected before President Kennedy was hired as the University of North Dakota’s 12th President, in 2016.

He says the University System “wants a leader devoted to North Dakota.”

When President Kennedy leaves June 15, it is the hope of the North Dakota University System to have appointed an interim President. The process to find an interim President has begun, Hagerott says. The interim President may be appointed at the board’s May 30 meeting.

While the search for the interim is on, so is the search for a permanent replacement.
