The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that turned fatal Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Highway Patrol, at around 3:15 p.m., a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by a 40-year-old female from Mekinock was northbound on 17th Street Northeast, approximately three miles south of Manvel, when it left the roadway and overturned, coming to rest upside down, mostly submerged in the Turtle River.
Both occupants, the driver and a three-year-old male passenger, were transported by ambulance to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, where they died.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the names are being withheld pending notification of family.
