Fargo Police Investigating Train, Pedestrian Accident

The Fargo Police Department says it is in the early stages of an investigation into a pedestrian versus train accident that occurred Thursday night in Fargo.

Sergeant Travis Moser, of the Fargo Police Department, says the accident was reported shortly before 11 p.m. at 6th Avenue North and North Broadway. He says officers found a deceased person that was hit by a train.

The accident is still under investigation, Moser says, and the police department will be working with Burlington Northern Santa Fe and their employees, along with officers from the investigations division of the police department, to determine what happened in the incident.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe has shut down their railways in Fargo until the investigation is complete, and Moser cautions that traffic delays may occur for an extended period of time due to the investigation.
