The Jamestown Police Department is continuing their investigation of an incident Thursday afternoon.

At 2:06 p.m., the Jamestown Police Department was notified of a male individual that was near the main doors of Jamestown High School, armed with a black handgun.

At the time of the call, Jamestown High School and all area schools were placed into lockdown.

A 18-year-old male was found at 2:20 p.m. at a residence in northeast Jamestown and detained for questioning. A black airsoft handgun was recovered at the residence.

The male is being detained for suspicion of terrorizing. It is unclear if he has any affiliation with the Jamestown Public School District. Valley News Live’s Joshua Peguero tells WZFG News that the school district says he was not a student at the high school in Jamestown.

The investigation is ongoing.
