The quiet day turned stormy late Friday afternoon, as severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings began spawning shortly after 4 p.m. across much of eastern North Dakota.
Barnes County was among the hardest hit.
A Barnes County dispatcher confirms to WZFG News that a tornado touched down north and northwest of Valley City Friday afternoon. The dispatcher says a law enforcement officer reported the touchdown shortly at around 5:30 p.m.
The dispatcher tells WZFG News that no damage information is available at this time.
