Motor Vehicle Theft Complaints Rise in Grand Forks

The Grand Forks Police Department says they have begun experiencing a high volume of theft from motor vehicle complaints in the past month.

The department says they are working on investigating, apprehending and prosecuting, but want the public to be aware of things they can do to prevent these crimes.

A large amount of the thefts come from vehicles being left unlocked, with valuables left in the car. The department says, if vehicles are unlocked, do not leave valuables in the car. If one chooses to keep valuables in their car, lock the doors and keep the items out of view.

Anyone seeing anything suspicious is asked to call the Grand Forks Police Department at 701-787-8000.
