Carrington Woman Named Miss North Dakota

A Carrington woman has been named the 2019 Miss North Dakota.

Haley Wolfe was crowned the newest Miss North Dakota on Saturday in Williston, succeeding Katie Olson, Miss North Dakota 2018. She was able to be on stage, during the competition, with her sister, Sabrina.

Wolfe says she is humbled to have been chosen as Miss North Dakota.

In an interview Tuesday morning with WZFG News, Wolfe says her platform, #BeThe1To, has to do with teen suicide.

At the age of 18, Wolfe’s cousin committed suicide. So, to raise awareness and remember her cousin, she is using the platform.

Haley says the crowning moment was a humbling time—especially when Olson crowned her.

The date and location for Miss America 2020 has not been set yet, Wolfe says.
