Cramer, Colleagues Introduce Bill to Help End Taxpayer Abortion Funding

North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer, along with colleagues across the Republican party, have introduced the Protecting Life and Taxpayers Act, which would stop the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.

Senator Cramer made the announcement Tuesday afternoon with Senators Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee; Steve Daines, Montana; Joni Ernst, Iowa; and Cindy Hyde-Smith, Mississippi.

The act is supported by the Susan B. Anthony List.

Every year, the abortion industry receives millions of dollars in direct and indirect federal funding, even though federal law has prohibited use of federal funds for abortion since 1976. A January 2018 Marist poll found that 60 percent of Americans oppose using tax dollars for abortion.
