One Injured in Stutsman County Crash

An Iowa man was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash between a car and semi on Highway 52, six miles north of Buchanan.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Mohammed Albanna, of Fairfield, Iowa, was southbound on Highway 52, and 65-year-old Dennis Montgomery, of Carrington, was northbound. Albanna was driving a 2018 Dodge Challenger, while Montgomery was driving a 2016 International Truck.

Around mile marker 249, Albanna’s Dodge Challenger crossed over the center line and entered the northbound lane. Montgomery’s International Truck attempted to avoid the collision, by steering to the right shoulder. The Dodge then struck the front left side of the International truck.

Both vehicles, in turn, entered the west ditch.

Albanna was extricated and transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center, and Montgomery was uninjured.

The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
