Walsh County Man Arrested On Multiple Charges

A 34-year-old Walsh County man has been arrested on multiple charges following an investigation earlier this week.

Court documents state that on early Monday morning, at around 12:30 a.m., authorities were called to a residence in Grafton for a verbal domestic dispute. The suspect, Adam Burns, had left the residence.

When authorities arrived on scene and spoke with the victim, she stated her and her boyfriend, identified as Burns, had gotten into a verbal argument, at which time she told Burns to leave.

The victim then stated she told Burns she was going to call the police, at which time Burns grabbed the phone out of her hand, preventing her from making the call. Burns then, according to the victim, cursed and yelled at her.

The victim says her two children were present during the argument.

The victim said the two had gotten into a physical domestic dispute a day earlier. During the incident, the victim was pushed against the door frame by Burns, while she was holding their six-month-old child. The child hit his head against the door frame. Slight swelling and a bruise was noticed by authorities on the infant’s forehead.

Burns was located in the city of Park River and subsequently arrested for Child Neglect And Abuse-Violent Simple Assault, and Interfering with Telephone During Emergency Call. The child neglect charge is a Class B Felony, while the interference with Telephone During Emergency Call is a Class C Felony.
