A 35-year-old Brainerd woman is in the hospital today after her 1996 Chevrolet pickup rolled in Cass County, Minnesota, Tuesday. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 35-year-old Cinda Plentywounds rear-ended a 2005 GMC Envoy, driven by 77-year-old Jay Wheeler of Rochert, Minnesota. A trooper activated his emergency lights, so as to conduct a stop, and Plentywounds fled the scene. She turned north onto County Road 83, ran off the roadway, and rolled. Plentywounds was transported to Essentia Health in Fargo with non-life threatening injuries, and Wheeler suffered no injuries in the crash. The road was dry at the time, according to the Patrol’s report.
