U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced 12 interns in her Washington, D.C. and North Dakota offices.
“Interns play a vital role in my offices, whether it is back home in North Dakota or in Washington, D.C., they help make sure the office runs smoothly and they get to learn about how a Senate office works. When students come into my offices, they are given the opportunity to learn about Congress and contribute to our state,” Heitkamp said. “I hope more North Dakota students take advantage of internships in my offices. You don’t have to come in with plans to run for office, but we hope to inspire you to serve your communities through public service.”
Heitkamp’s offices are currently seeking fall interns for her five North Dakota offices and her Washington, D.C. office. Students interested in politics, government, press, public service or the legislative process are encouraged to apply for this one of a kind experience. Successful candidates will be those who demonstrate leadership, thoughtfulness, creativity, a strong attention to detail, and a sense of public service. Preference will be given to students who are from North Dakota. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
