Three Die in I-29 Crash Near ND-SD Border

 

Three are dead and two are hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on I-29 near Hankinson Sunday. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2003 Chevy, driven by a 15-year-old male, was southbound on I-29. A 2000 Buick, driven by a 24-year-old female, was northbound. The 15 year old driver of the Chevrolet went off the east edge of the road, over corrected and lost control of the vehicle.  The Chevrolet crossed the median and struck the Buick.  The Chevrolet rolled over and came to rest on it's top in the east ditch.  The Buick also came to rest in the east ditch. The 15 year old driver of the Chevrolet was injured and transported to Essentia.  The 45 year old passenger of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead on scene.  The 4 year old male passenger of the Buick was injured and flown to Sanford Hospital.  The 24 year old female driver of the Buick was pronounced dead on scene.  The 5 year old female passenger was pronounced dead on scene.  The crash is still under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
