This morning, at 3:43 a.m. in the 900 block of 5 St. S. Fargo Officers responded to a report of an assault that had just occurred. The victim called dispatch stating he was attacked by people with bats at a residence he had been staying at. When officers arrived in the area, they saw three males running southbound with bats and were able to detain one of them, identified as Shane Michael Scott Burley, 21 of Fargo. Another male, identified as Danial Ray Curtis, 54 of Fargo, exited the residence and was detained. The victim stated they got into an argument with Burley and another individual who hit them with a baseball bat and was punched by Curtis. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. All parties involved were acquainted. Burley was arrested for aggravated assault and two outstanding warrants (failure to pay fine and fugitive from justice). Curtis was arrested for simple domestic assault.
