Hoeven Announces Funding to Protect Marmarth From Flooding

Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee and a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has awarded a $128,000 loan and $100,000 grant to the City of Marmarth. The funds will be used to restore the city’s levee, which was damaged from flooding in 2011.

“Marmarth’s levee protects the city’s residents and businesses from being flooded by the Little Missouri River,” Hoeven said. “The levee was previously damaged by higher than normal flooding, and today’s funding will help restore the levee’s integrity.”
