Sanford Health Outlines Fargo Growth Plan

One year after opening Sanford Medical Center Fargo (SMCF), the organization announced its vision for Sanford Fargo over the next decade, which includes additional facilities and expansion plans that will help it better serve its growing patient base in the region.

The effort includes new buildings on the SMCF campus, an extensive investment in its South University and Broadway locations and additional clinic locations in rapidly growing areas of the metro.

The organization anticipates an investment of $200 million. The envisioned growth will bring 200 more doctors and hundreds of additional nurses and support staff, and it will pump millions of dollars in economic impact into the area as more people from across the region come to Fargo for their medical care. Additional staff will allow for improved access, new specialties and continuing advancements for the region’s health care.

The first major addition will be a 100,000-square-foot Heart and Vascular Center on the land east of the new medical center that will break ground in the next 2-3 years. Future plans on that site will also include facilities focused on women’s and children’s services.
