WASHINGTON – A Laotian national has been removed from the United States, despite a pardon issued in Minnesota.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz issued Tou Lue Vang a pardon after he was convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota.
“(Tou Lue Vang) was convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing a ten-year-old girl in the state of Minnesota,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said. “He even tried to pay his victim for her silence, and he called his heinous crimes a minor thing.”
The pardon delayed deportation.
“I revoked his legal status,” Rubio said in a post on X. “ICE has removed him from the United States and he will never endanger another American.”
