Fedorchak accepting nominations for U.S. Service Academies

FARGO, N.D. — U.S. Representative Julie Fedorchak announced that her office is now accepting congressional nomination applications for high school students seeking admission to the U.S. Service Academies for the Class of 2031.

The deadline for students across North Dakota to submit their nomination applications is October 16, 2026.

Congressional nominations are required for entry into four of the nation’s five service academies:

  • U.S. Military Academy (West Point)
  • U.S. Naval Academy
  • U.S. Air Force Academy
  • U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

A fifth institution, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, offers the same tuition-free service path but does not require a congressional nomination to apply.

In a message to constituents, Fedorchak highlighted the academies’ tuition-free, world-class higher education and leadership preparation, encouraging parents, teachers, coaches, and community members to share the opportunity with local youth interested in service or military careers. She also encouraged younger students to begin researching admission requirements early to help prepare for future application cycles.

Applicants or families with questions regarding eligibility, requirements, or the application process can contact Rep. Fedorchak’s Fargo office directly at (701) 353-6665.
