(FARGO) – On Friday, August 23, at 1:16 p.m., Fargo Police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 12th Ave. S. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim with serious injuries from a gunshot wound to the chest. The suspect(s) had fled the scene before officers arrived.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased. The FPD will release the name of the victim, pending notification of the next-of-kin.
After thoroughly investigating the scene and speaking with witnesses, Fargo Police officers believe the involved parties were known to each other. The investigation is ongoing, with The Fargo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division working diligently to uncover more details about the circumstances surrounding this incident.
