FARGO, N.D. – State Representative Desiree Morton of Fargo of Fargo and Immigrant Development Center Executive Director Fowzia Adde went over a controversy between them on The Flag.
Last week, Morton slammed her Republican colleagues posting a picture of them for phone banking for Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak’s campaign with Adde.
“Everyone knows that the Somalis have defrauded Americans out of billions of dollars throughout Minnesota and all over the United States. If we think that we as a state are exempt from fraud then we are either very naive or extremely deluded,” Morton wrote on Facebook.
Adde shared her concern that Morton’s comments may hurt her organization and Morton disagreed.
“I’m just Somalian by birth. What does that got to do with anything else in any other towns who are going through fraud?” Adde asked.
“I don’t think I said anything that was not true. I did not say that you specifically were committing fraud. I apologize if you took it personally. I did not mean it as a personal attack on you,” Morton said.
“I accept your apology,” Adde said.
