Coronavirus Tracker: Friday, January 22nd Update for North Dakota and Minnesota

(Fargo, ND) -- A tale of two states continues when it comes to COVID-19 exposure and response.

Friday, the North Dakota Department of Health reported an additional 196 cases of Coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The state now has had a total of 96,567 positive tests, with 93,980 fully recovered. 

There were also three new reported deaths by the health department, bringing the states total to 1,403 since the pandemic began.

Cass County saw 32 positive tests, which was tied with Burleigh County for the most in the past 24 hours. One of those who died, a woman in her 50s, was from Cass County. 

As for the state of Minnesota, the Department of Health has reported another 1,525 cases of COVID-19, bringing the state's total case number to 452,268 with 434,515 Minnesotans recovered. 

There were also 21 newly reported deaths from the virus, bringing the states total to 6,032 since the pandemic began. 

Clay County saw only nine new cases of Coronavirus in the past day, but did have one of the 21 reported deaths, which was a woman in her 70s.
