Senate Kills Homegrown Marijuana Measure

(Bismarck, ND) -- A bill that would have allowed homegrown marijuana is done before it ever got underway.

The Senate voted 42-to-4 Thursday to kill the bill. The measure would have let registered qualified patients or designated caregivers to grow up to eight marijuana plants.

The plant would had to have been grown in an enclosed, locked facility.

The bill was intended to improve access to medical marijuana for people who would undergo economic hardship to reach dispensaries.
