Coronavirus Tracker: MN Sees Over 1600 New Cases, 140 Reported Deaths After Four Labs Failed to Disclose Information

(St. Paul, MN) -- A major jump of Coronavirus Cases and deaths in Minnesota, with a bit of an asterisk.

The state department of health reported an additional 1,641 positive cases and 140 deaths on Tuesday. Those numbers, however, not all from the past 24 hours.

State health leaders say Four labs failed to meet Minnesota requirements for timely reporting of COVID-19 test results and deaths, leading to the major jump in both catagories reportedly accrued over the last five months of missed data. 

Clay County was still only reported to have 10 new cases Tuesday, and one new death.

1,086,936 Minnesotans have gotten at least one dose of a Coronavirus vaccine, while 602,623 residents have completed the vaccination process.
