(Fargo, ND) -- It's been said by officials in North Dakota for months, but now Wallethub has also jumped on board for just how good the state has handled COVID-19.
The personal finance website ranks North Dakota as the 5th safest state in the U.S. during the pandemic.
WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across five key metrics, including the rates of COVID-19 transmission, positive testing, hospitalizations and death, as well as the share of the eligible population getting vaccinated.
North Dakota showed strong numbers in the following categories:
- 8th – Vaccination Rate
- 13th – Positive Testing Rate
- 10th – Hospitalization Rate
- 3rd – Death Rate
If you're wondering how neighboring states faired in the study, Minnesota ranked 14th safest, while South Dakota ranked 20th and Montana ranked 19th.
