(West Fargo, ND) -- More appointments for West Fargo residents to get their vehicle’s catalytic converter marked are now available noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25th.

Most scrapyards or shops will not buy converters with paint or marks because it is a sign it is stolen. The original appointments, which are set to take place Saturday, April 24th, filled two hours after announcing the initiative Tuesday.

Appointments are required, so to sign up click this link, or go here and click the Service Alert button at the top of the page.

The initiative brought about due to 90 catalytic converter thefts in West Fargo being reported over the past calendar year.

The service is free, and is a partnership between the West Fargo Police Department’s Community Outreach Programs and Services Unit, The Jay Thomas Show at AM 970 WDAY and FM 93.1, and Dave’s West Fargo Tire and Service.
