Authorities Arrest Clay County Fugitive

(Moorhead, MN) -- A man who has eluded law enforcement for months has finally been brought into custody.

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting confirming that members from the High Plains Fugitive Task Force observed 41-year-old Burton Bonham walking and approached him Monday around 12:37 p.m. Authorities then say he refused to listen to commands and fled on foot to a nearby residence in the 2500 block of 6th Avenue North in Moorhead. The subject is also known to have cautions for carrying firearms.

Additional units responded to assist the Task Force. A perimeter was established around the residence and attempts were made to communicate with him. After a short time, Bonham began to communicate with the officers and agreed to come outside. He was taken into custody without incident.

Bonham is currently being held at the Clay County Correctional Center for his six outstanding felony level warrants as well as Obstructing the LegalProcess.
