West Fargo Announces Pair of Upcoming Road Closures

(West Fargo, ND) -- The City of West Fargo has announced two separate road closures that are expected to begin in the coming days.

First, the right turn lane of eastbound 13th Avenue East at 9th Street East will close Thursday, April 29th, for maintenance work. Repairs are expected to be complete by the end of the day, pending weather conditions.

The remaining lanes will stay open to traffic. The left lane will provide access for eastbound through traffic and southbound turns. Motorists in this area may encounter congestion and delays during the morning and evening commutes and should adjust their travel plans accordingly.

Next, a section of 12th Avenue East between Fourth Street East and Sixth Street East will close Tuesday, April 27th, for pavement removals and storm sewer installation. This closure is dependent on weather conditions and expected to last 14 days.

These improvements are part of a project to install a bike path from 13th Avenue East to Seventh Avenue East. The project’s funding source is a grant from the North Dakota Department of Transportation and capital improvement sales tax. The final project will improve pedestrian routes from 13th Avenue East to Main Avenue East.
