NDSU Junior Places Seventh In Hammer Throw At U.S. Trials

(Eugene, OR) -- A North Dakota State University junior has a new school record after placing seventh in the hammer throw at the U.S. Olympic Trials.  

Alex Talley was the top collegiate finisher, coming in behind six professionals with a personal record of 236 feet-eight-inches.  

Talley earned first-team All-America honors this season in the shot put, weight throw, and hammer throw.  

The trials event was held Sunday in Eugene Oregon.
