Fargo is 2021’s 4th Best City for Renters

(Fargo, ND) -- With rental prices recently hitting their highest level in two years, the personal-finance website WalletHub Wednesday released its report on 2021’s Best & Worst Places to Rent in America, and Fargo ranks near the top.

WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities based on 22 key indicators of rental attractiveness and quality of life. The data set ranges from historical rental-price changes to the cost of living to job availability, and Fargo came in as the 4th best in the country. Some key factors are listed below.

Renting a Home in Fargo (1=Best; 91=Avg.):

  • 8th – Rental Affordability
  • 39th – Rental Vacancy Rate
  • 75th – Rent-to-Price Ratio
  • 68th – Cost of Living
  • 75th – Safety
  • 23rd – Severely Cost-Burdened Renter Households
  • 47th – Job Market
  • 83rd – % of Residents Who Are Fully Vaccinated

Soiux Falls finished as the best city for renting, while Cedar Rapids, Overland Park and Lincoln, Nebraska all finished inside the Top five. The worst city for renting, according to Wallethub, was Huntington, West Virginia.
