Fargo PD Responds to Faked 9-1-1 Call

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police warning the community about prank phone calls after and incident Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a call for service at a residence in the 6800 block of 24 Street South around 1 p.m after an individual called dispatch and reported they accidently shot their sister and hung up the phone. Upon officers arrival, they were able to determine the caller was not associated with the address and no one had been injured or was in any trouble at the reported residence.

"Unfortunately, false calls for service like this one are not uncommon," said Fargo Police Public Information Officer Jessica Schindeldecker via a statement released to WDAY Radio. "However, all calls for service like this are taken seriously and fully investigated."

Fargo PD is reminding folks that fake calls like this waste time and resources for the deparmtent and community.
