GoFundMe Started for Fallen Red Lake Nation Police Officer

(Red Lake, MN) -- The Red Lake Tribal Council has confirmed they've started a GoFundMe for an officer killed this week in the line of duty.

Red Lake Nation police officer Ryan Bialke was killed Tuesday after an altercation in Redby, Minnesota with a man who was reportedly suicidal.

Court documents revealed that David Brian Donnell Jr. told authorities he panicked when officers arrived at his home, and fire shots when Bialke kicked in the door after pleading with him to come out. Donnell said he had a previous warrant and didn't want to go to prison.

Donnell Jr. is charged with four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of second-degree murder in Bialke's death.

The page reads "Officer Bialke was a six year veteran of the Red Lake Department of Public Safety, a man who was well liked and respected in the community, he was known to always go above and beyond his call of duty and would help anyone he could in the Red Lake Nation and more."
