Fargo Native Business Owner Makes Special Donation to Nurses at Sanford Health

(Fargo, ND) -- A new business owner with roots in Fargo and Sanford Health recently donated 5,000 of her company’s signature products to make the daily lives of Sanford Fargo nurses a little easier.

Soulvation Society CEO and Founder Leah Kay spent 25 years growing up in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Having hometown friends who are nurses and fond memories of working at Sanford spurred Kay to make this donation in thanks for all Sanford nurses have done during the pandemic.

“I was grateful to spend a few years during my undergrad as a phlebotomist at the Sanford South University location and saw firsthand how kind and generous the nurses at Sanford are. They spend tireless hours running around taking care of others, and I wanted to find a way to give back to say thank you for all their hard work during the pandemic and all their time leading up to such a chaotic year,” said Kay. “Headbands are great for nurses, as they help keep their hair out of their face. Our butter soft headbands are designed to be comfortable enough to wear all day and to help us feel a little more put together during the chaos. Soulvation is donating 5,000 headbands to Sanford in thanks for all the hard work the nurses do during such an unknown time. We hope we can make things just a little better during your busy days!”

Soulvation is a women-owned and operated company headquartered in Denver.

“We’re very grateful for Soulvation’s generosity and support of our nursing staff,” said Jayne Gust, director of community relations for Sanford Health. “It’s heartwarming to see former employees succeed and pay it forward. As the pandemic continues and overall patient volumes continue to be high, our nurses continue to value the support of our businesses and community.”
