Fargo North Principal Warns Parents, Students on Viral Tik Tok Trend

(Fargo, ND) -- One Fargo high school has sent out a warning to parents and students about a social media trend that's gone to far.

Fargo North High Principal Travis Christensen talked with WDAY Radio's The Coffee Club Thursday, laying out a letter he sent out to the Spartan community about the "Delicious Licks" Challenge currently making waves on Tik Tok that has led to students destroying or stealing school property, like soap dispensers and other items, then posting it on the social media outlet.

"It's concerning because of what could happen if this extends out into the community," said Christensen. "If you did this out at the mall, restaurants or other businesses, you could be criminally charged. We don't want that to happen."

Christensen says there have been a few cases of the challenge taking place already at Fargo North, and hopes this warning can put out students' attempts to 'go viral' before things get out of hand.

Fargo North isn't alone, earlier this week the West Fargo School District also put out a release saying they had busted multiple students participating in the challenge. Moorhead Area Public Schools, and even NDSU have also reported cases of students breaking and stealing the equipment.
